Daniel Mollod, M.D. Treatment Philosophy
I have extensive training and experience as a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and psychoanalyst. My goal is to provide the most effective, individualized approaches to relieve mental suffering, rather than be biased towards a certain treatment. My treatment plans can involve psychotherapy, wellness recommendations around nutrition and exercise, and medication, all tailored to my patients’ personal preferences. If feasible, I will use a more psychotherapy-centered approach first, as even some seemingly unsolvable problems and symptoms will often resolve when emotionally charged worries and beliefs are discussed in a safe, protected setting. Because I am expert in longer term psychotherapy methods and psychoanalysis, I am often able to help with deeper personality and relationship problems that other less intensive treatments have left unaddressed.

In fact, for those who qualify for the most committed psychotherapy treatment available, I will use psychoanalysis as a modality (see the separate page about psychoanalysis) As an affiliate staff member of the Beth Israel Deaconess Department of Psychiatry, a faculty member of Harvard Medical School, as well as faculty at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute, I have many contacts in the treatment community locally and nationally. When a patient presents with needs outside my expertise, or requires a referral for a specialized treatment, I am able to work with colleagues throughout the Boston area to make sure my patients’ needs are well taken care of.
